Al-Araji: Iraq is serious about implementing the terms of the security agreement with Iran

    The National Security Advisor, Qasim Al-Araji, confirmed today, Monday that Iraq is serious about implementing the terms of the security agreement with Iran.
     
     
    The media office of the National Security Advisor said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Al-Araji received in his office today, the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Police, Major General Ahmed Reza Radan, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Iranian ambassador to Baghdad, Muhammad Kazem Al Sadiq.”
    The statement added, "The meeting discussed security cooperation and ways to strengthen and develop relations between the two countries through the exchange of experiences and information."
    Al-Araji stressed, according to the statement, that “the security achieved in Iraq is due to the sacrifices of the Iraqis and their defeat of terrorism,” noting that “Al-Sudani’s government is keen to perpetuate and develop relations with the Iranian side, in a way that serves the interests of the two neighboring countries and peoples.”
    Al-Araji added, "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani constantly emphasizes not using Iraq's lands as a starting point for attacking neighbors, and that Iraq's goal is to prevent any armed opposition presence on its lands," indicating, "Iraq is serious about implementing the terms of the security agreement between the two countries."
    According to the statement, "Radan stressed that his country seeks to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences and abilities with Iraq, noting "the importance of Iraq's role in the region."
