FIIA announces the arrest of wanted terrorists and antiquities dealers in a number of governorates

    The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency (FIIA) announced on Monday, the tightening of its arrest of wanted terrorists and antiquities dealers in a number of governorates.
     
    The agency said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “As part of the efforts made by the Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency to pursue wanted persons, and according to accurate intelligence information, the Maysan Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism Directorate was able to carry out a security operation that resulted in the arrest of four wanted persons in accordance with Article 4/ 2 / Terrorism, while a force from the intelligence detachments of the First Division, Federal Police, arrested one of those wanted for murder in accordance with Article (406 / Q.A.) the arrest came after he was followed up in one of the neighborhoods east of the capital, Baghdad,” indicating that “the wanted persons were referred to the competent authorities to obtain their just punishment.”
     
    The statement added, "The Directorate for Combating Organized Crime in Basra Governorate, as part of its efforts based on intensifying intelligence work to confront antiquities dealers, arrested 2 antiquities dealers in possession of 8 antiquities. In Najaf Governorate, detachments from the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime also arrested 2 antiquities dealers they were in possession of 17 artifacts along with the vehicle they were riding,” noting that “legal measures have been taken against them so that they receive their just punishment.”
     
    The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency called on “citizens to report terrorist operations, organized crime gangs, and suspicious cases to the toll-free 144.”
