MOH: Destruction 419 kg of narcotics and psychotropic substances

    The Ministry of Health announced today, Thursday, the destruction of more than 419 kilograms and 780 tablets of narcotics and psychotropic substances at the Forensic Medicine Department in Baghdad. 

    A statement from the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said, “Under the supervision of the Prime Minister and the follow-up of the Minister of Health, Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, Head of the Supreme National Authority for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, and in the presence of Judge Suhaib Dahham Al-Maadidi, Vice-President of the Baghdad Al-Rusafa Federal Court of Appeal, and Head of the Narcotic Drug Destruction Committee.” Ahmed Abadi, Director of the Department of Follow-up of the Work of the Supreme National Authority for Drug Affairs in the Ministry of Health, and all members of the committee, new quantities of drugs seized in accordance with the law and stored in the Forensic Medicine Department in Baghdad were destroyed.

    Judge Al-Maadidi stated, “(419,291) kilograms of Captacone and hashish, and (780) tablets of tramal, were destroyed, in addition to (3) glass bottles with a capacity of (600) cubic centimeters of hashish, which were kept in the fortified rooms of the Forensic Medicine Department in Baghdad.” Which was seized according to legal records.”
