The head of COI receives the Chinese Ambassador

    The head of the Commission of  Integrity(COI), Haider Hanoun, confirmed on Thursday, that protecting operating companies and the private sector is one of the pillars of the government program.

    The media office of the head of the Integrity Commission stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “The Chairman of the Integrity Commission, Haider Hanoun, received the Chinese Ambassador (Cui Wei) at the Commission’s headquarters,” noting “the importance of diversifying investment and not being limited to specific companies."

    The statement expressed his happiness at the entry of companies from the People's Republic of China to invest in Iraq and contribute to the reconstruction and infrastructure development operations, calling on those companies not to submit to blackmail and bargaining, and the authority will accompany companies step by step when they are exposed to obstacles or blackmail, especially since their protection represents protection. for the Iraqi economy."

    Hanoun stressed "the necessity of providing a safe environment for investment, and protecting operating companies and the private sector, which represents one of the pillars of the government program," stressing, "the Authority has come a long way in this regard, and companies must enter the labor market in Iraq."

    The head of the commission added, “Successes in the field of combating corruption, reducing its paths, and besieging the corrupt have not been achieved by any of the counterpart agencies in the region,” pointing out that “this represents a guarantee for companies to work inside Iraq, in addition to other guarantees represented by judicial guarantees through the issuance of judgments and arrest warrants issued against the corrupt, as well as the legislative authority by legislating laws that restrict the work of the corrupt and provide a safe environment for investment."

    He pointed to "the importance of accelerating the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the National Committee for People's Supervision of the Republic of China."

    For his part, the Chinese Ambassador (Cui Wei) expressed his "satisfaction with the good relationship between the two countries," pointing out that "the Mesopotamian civilization and the Chinese civilization are considered among the deepest and oldest civilizations, as both countries possess ideas and values from ancient times."


    He praised, "the achievements made by the Federal Integrity Commission in the field of combating, preventing and preventing corruption, hoping that a cooperation agreement will be concluded between the counterpart agencies of the integrity and anti-corruption bodies in the two countries, and bridges of cooperation will be extended between the embassy and the Commission, and a meeting will be held with Chinese companies operating in Iraq."
