The Minister of Immigration and Displacement, Evan Faiq Jabru, announced today, Monday, the return of (487) displaced Yazidis to their original areas of residence in Sinjar district, stressing that the coming days will witness another voluntary return of the displaced.
Jabro said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “(487) displaced Yazidis were returned voluntarily from the Sharia camp in Dohuk Governorate to their original residential areas in Sinjar District and its affiliated districts and villages in Nineveh Governorate.”
The statement added, "The return operation came in coordination with the ministry's branch in the governorate, the security forces, the local governments in the two governorates, and the Joint Operations Command to secure their return."
It noted, "Coordination was made with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to transport the displaced people's furniture from the camp to their original areas."
The statement stressed, "The coming days will witness another voluntary return of the displaced from the Dohuk camps to their areas in Sinjar."
