The Ministry of Justice confirmed on Sunday that there is no truth to the news circulating about postponing the general amnesty law until after the elections.
The ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "The attributed news circulated by some media outlets about postponing the vote on the general amnesty law until after the provincial council elections is incorrect”.
The ministry stressed " these statements were not issued by the Ministry of justice" ,noting that "the draft general amnesty law was approved by the Council of ministers for what is stipulated in the government program and referred to the parliament”.
