Parliamentary Education Announces the Need to Focus the Industrial Advisory Council on Four Main Tasks

    The Parliamentary Education Committee announced on, Wednesday, that the Industrial Advisory Council should focus on four main tasks, while stressing the need to legislate the government partnership law with the private sector to provide sufficient job opportunities for university graduates.
     
    The chairman of the committee, Muzahem Al-Khayat, said during the first conference of the Industrial Advisory Council at Iraqi universities, attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "The Parliamentary Education Committee appreciates the executive measures of the government program, the first of which is the development and social services sector, and the creation of the Industrial Advisory Council and the launch of its establishment", indicating that "there is an increase in unemployment, the percentage of which has become alarming, perhaps more than 16%, offset by market saturation in some specialties with the outputs of the Ministry of higher education and scientific research, some of which are not aligned with the needs of the labor market”.
     
    He added that" these challenges and this gap need a comprehensive review and real reform in order to reach harmony between educational programs and the skills of graduates, future specialties and the labor market " , noting that "the Industrial Advisory Council has a big task in order to focus on the pillars of the national strategy for education 2022-2031, and to pay attention to the quality of education and efficiency of the labor market through modern integrated academic programs and encourage the environment of innovation, creativity and motivation to be a qualified graduate to compete in the labor market”.
     
    He stated that" the parliamentary higher education committee reminds the Industrial Advisory Council to pay attention to the basic values in the national strategy for education in Iraq, including affiliation and Citizenship, down to global citizenship, respect for diversity and acceptance of the other, justice, transparency, community partnership, excellence and teamwork with the presence of leaders who carry change initiatives, academic freedom and competitiveness " , calling on the Ministry of higher education “to study the legislation of the government partnership law with the private sector to provide adequate job opportunities for university graduates in all fields”.
     
    He stated that " the Parliamentary Education Committee appreciates the role of the minister of higher education and scientific research in direct supervision of the implementation of the national strategy and the development of technical and vocational education important to the country and the launch of the Bologna track, follow-up to its implementation, proceed with the pilot phase and training transformation" ,valuing "the role of the prime minister in launching an initiative and a pioneering platform for development and employment on the Fourth of March for the year 2023 to support and empower young people in order to gain decent opportunities in the labor market, create an effective economic movement and motivate students to interact with the changes of the labor market, technological development and investment of individual skills and ta
