The Iranian Foreign Ministry expressed today, Thursday, its rejection of allegations of Tehran’s interference in Syrian affairs, considering them false and surprising.
"The accusations and allegations in the media about Iran's interference in Syria's internal affairs are false and surprising," said ministry spokesman Esmail Baqaei.
He added, "We stress the necessity of providing security for all segments of the Syrian people and preventing the spread of unrest and violence in this country."
He added, "We also affirm our principled position in support of Syria's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the formation of a comprehensive political system."
