3 accused of human and drug trafficking arrested in two governorates: DGIS

    The Directorate General of Intelligence and Security DGIS, at the Ministry of Defense, announced on Wednesday arresting three wanted men, including a woman, on charges of human and drug trafficking in two governorates.
     
    A statement by DGIS, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that "through accurate intelligence information and after obtaining judicial approvals, the detachments of the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate of DGIS at the Ministry of Defense were able to arrest an accused who carries out human trafficking operations and the sale of women and smuggling them out of the country, where three girls were found in her house in the Karrada area, the accused intended to sell and smuggle them to the Kurdistan region," noting that "legal measures were taken against her and referred to the courts to receive her fair punishment." 
     
    The statement added that "the detachments of the Directorate of Intelligence and Security of Dhi Qar affiliated to the same directorate carried out, in coordination with the Narcotics Affairs in Dhi Qar province, an operation that resulted in arresting two dealers and promoters of narcotic substances," noting that "they were found in possession of two Kalashnikov rifles with ammunition and an RPG7 launcher with its missiles."
     
    "The defendants have two arrest warrants issued against them in accordance with the provisions of Article 28 of the Narcotics," the statement said.
