The Iraqi National Intelligence Service INIS managed, on Tuesday, to carry out a cross-border qualitative operation that resulted in arresting two terrorists.

A statement by the Security Media Cell received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that " in accordance with the directives of the commander-in-chief of the armed forces to continue monitoring the remnants of the terrorist Daesh, the National Intelligence Service carried out a qualitative operation outside the Iraqi borders, through which it arrested both the terrorist Omar Awad Ibrahim Saleh al-makkani (Abu Maryam), and the terrorist Yasser Hassan Ibrahim hetimi Al-makkani (Abu Ammar), who are two of the important targets of INIS.

The statement explained that "the terrorist Abu Maryam, belonged to the Daesh terrorist gangs in 2014 and was appointed commander of the mortar detachment and participated in the fight against the security forces during the liberation battles, and then fled outside Iraq and moved between a number of countries until he was arrested in one of the friendly countries.

The statement added, "the terrorist Abu Ammar joined the ranks of ISIS in 2014 and was appointed commander of the Al-Fatah Battalion, which was active in the so-called Southern state and participated in targeting the security forces and fought against them in the liberation battles and participated in targeting the musayyib district in Babylon Province with a car bomb that killed dozens of martyrs and wounded, and after the defeat of ISIS in 2017, he fled outside Iraq until his arrest in one of the friendly countries".
