Commander-in-Chief Spokesman: Moving to diversify armament sources, great interaction to aid Gaza

    INA - BAGHDAD

    The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, confirmed on Tuesday, moving to diversify sources of armament from the best international facilities, while noting that there is great interaction from companies, organizations, and citizens regarding providing aid to the Gaza Strip.

    “The statement of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces is accurate, as arming the Armed Forces is going according to the current situation and the requirements of the stage of completing the capacity building of the Iraqi forces,” said Major General Rasoul to the Iraqi News Agency - INA, indicating that “There is a tendency to have a diversity of sources of armament from well-known and the best global facilities.”

    He added, "Among our priorities is to complete the building of the Iraqi air defense capabilities to suit the next stage that the world is going through," pointing out that "we continue to have understandings with many developed countries in the field of weapons manufacturing to build the military institution and the armed forces."

    Regarding aid to Gaza, Major General Rasoul confirmed that “a committee was formed headed by the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Human Rights to collect donations, and there is a recognizable interaction by companies, organizations and citizens,” pointing out that “when the receipt of aid and donations is completed, it will be officially announced.”

    "There is coordination with the Egyptian authorities to deliver aid through the joint Rafah crossing between Egypt and Gaza," he included.
