Iraq, France stress the necessity of developing military cooperation of various types

    Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi, and Deputy Director of International and Strategic Relations at the French Ministry of Armies, Lieutenant General Christopher Lucas, stressed on Tuesday, the necessity of developing military cooperation at various types and levels.

    "The two sides discussed the qualitative and strategic duties undertaken and performed by the Joint Operations Command in the war on terrorism and protecting stability in the country," said the Joint Operations Command in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    The statement included that "the structure and the role of the staff bodies in the command were reviewed against the backdrop of the tasks they perform, foremost among which is the pursuit of defeated terrorist elements."

    "The necessity of developing the prospects for bilateral relations and military cooperation with the French side at various levels and levels was emphasized,'' as Al-Mohammadawi praised "the distinguished efforts and important role played by the French forces in the fields of training and consultation within the international coalition forces."
