Advisor to the Prime Minister announces government plans to revitalize and invest in tourism

    Advisor to the Prime Minister for Tourism, Antiquities and Education Qahtan Al-Jubouri announced on Sunday the government's plans to revitalize and invest in the tourism sector, while revealing a government movement to provide an integrated vision on revitalizing the tourism sector.
     
     
    Al-Jubouri said, in his speech during a workshop held by the Tourism Authority under the title (Investment and Prospects for Tourism Development, Reality, Challenges and Ambition), attended by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "within the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, to revitalize the tourism sector in Iraq and make it one of the sectors supporting the national economy, it was decided to hold workshops in this regard."
     
     
    He explained that "the tourism sector is one of the important sectors in countries," noting that "most countries in the world are moving towards supporting and activating this sector."
     
     
    He pointed out that "the tourism sector in Iraq has gone through many accumulations since 1980 until now, which caused a delay in activating and revitalizing this sector," stressing that "the Prime Minister directly directed those concerned with the tourism sector to activate it in line with the government program."
     
    He added, "The movement with the Ministry of Culture, the Tourism Authority and the concerned departments towards activating this sector and activating investment in it, especially since the Prime Minister directed that investment have a major role in this sector."
     
    He continued, "There is a will towards announcing tourist facilities in the Ministry of Culture and referring them to investment such as hotels and other facilities," pointing to "the Prime Minister's support for the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities and its support for all sectors towards activating services for the Iraqi citizen, as well as supporting the national economy."
     
    He noted that "there is coordination between the Prime Minister's Office and the Tourism Authority in order to present an integrated vision to the Prime Minister to revitalize the tourism sector."
