JOP: The increase in Iraqi intelligence capabilities enabled the armed forces to carry out qualitative operations

    The Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, today, Saturday, detailed the most important results achieved from the recent military operations in the Nineveh, Salah al-Din, Kirkuk and Diyala districts, while confirming that the level of intelligence capabilities had risen to high levels and in a way that enabled the armed forces to carry out quality operations against terrorism. He also mentioned on the need of the Air Force, Army Aviation, and Air Defense for advanced technologies to raise the level of readiness, pointing out that this matter receives great attention from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani. 

    Lieutenant General Al-Muhammadawi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “During these operations, Iraqi F-16 aircraft carried out eight successful air strikes in the Diyala sector (Hamrin Dam and Mountains) and Salah al-Din sector (outskirts of the Alas fields), as well as the Kirkuk sector in (Wadi Zaghitoun) according to Accurate intelligence information and diligent and fruitful technical intelligence follow-up from the Directorate of Military Intelligence and the Iraqi National Intelligence Service, and with the planning, supervision and follow-up of the targeting cell of the Joint Operations Command.”.

    He added, "These operations and air strikes resulted in the killing of ten terrorists, the destruction of explosive belts under control, the seizure of weapons, equipment, night and day sights, and the destruction of various warehouses, caves, and guest houses.".

    He continued, "In Anbar, the heroes of the Popular Mobilization Forces were able to set up a successful ambush in the Anbar desert (the outskirts of Al-Husseiniyat), which resulted in the killing of a terrorist detachment consisting of four people. Two weeks ago, they killed two citizens from the areas and tribes of Al-Bu Hayat. The operation also resulted in the destruction and burning of a vehicle, weapons, and equipment for this group.".

    He pointed out that "work continues to pursue small and defeated terrorist groups with great cooperation from citizens and distinguished intelligence work.".

    Regarding the nature of the Iraqi intelligence work, as well as the capabilities required to raise the capabilities of the armed forces, Lieutenant General Al-Muhammadawi explained, “The Iraqi human and intelligence capabilities have reached very advanced stages and we rely on our capabilities to carry out these qualitative and distinguished operations. We certainly aspire to complete the technical surveillance systems for all of our heroic units, especially the strategic drones and systems.” Advanced cameras and night goggles, as well as supplying and strengthening the capabilities and capacities of the Air Force, Army Aviation and Air Defense with modern and advanced capabilities to be fully prepared and prepared to confront local and regional challenges. There is great interest from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces in these requirements and he has a vision and strategy according to clear timings and priorities to achieve these goals.”.

    The Deputy Commander of Joint Operations stated, “Continuous and joint training and teamwork between the Army, Interior, and Popular Mobilization Forces units contributed greatly to enhancing the capabilities and preparations of our heroic units.”
