The Parliamentary Youth and Sports Committee announced on Thursday, that the Presidency of Parliament honored 25 international referees.
Committee member Mahmoud Al-Obaidi said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The Presidency of Parliament , represented by its President Muhammad Al-Halbousi, celebrated for the first time and honored 25 international football, futsal and beach referees with sums of money,” indicating that “this group suffers from a lot of injustice and lack of attention most of them have not received their financial dues."
For his part, international referee Salem Amer extended “thanks and appreciation to the Parliamentary Youth and Sports Committee and the Speaker of Parliament ,” noting that “this honor is the first in the history of Iraq, and we are looking for interest from the National Federation."'
