Oil Ministry sets the date for submitting companies’ offers for the sixth licensing round

    The Ministry of Oil set today, Monday, the date for submitting companies’ offers for the sixth licensing round, while indicating that the sixth licensing round is purely exploratory towards areas with promising gas potential.
     
    Assistant Director General of the Department of Contracts and Licensing at the Ministry of Oil, Muhammad Najm Al-Saadi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The companies are continuing to apply for the sixth licensing round, including qualified companies as well as companies under qualification, but The final number of these companies is not yet complete, and the final position will be announced if it is complete,” indicating that “the sixth licensing round is purely exploratory towards areas with promising gas potential.
    Al-Saadi added, “The companies will submit their offers at the beginning of next year,” noting that “the sixth round included the governorates of Nineveh, Anbar, Najaf al-Ashraf, Muthanna, and Diwaniyah as well, while the fifth round included the rest of the governorates, including Nineveh, Diyala, Wasit, Maysan, and Basra.”
     
    He pointed out that "Total's contracts are giant contracts and are called complementary contracts, as it include oil, gas, water and solar energy, and we currently do not have similar contracts," stressing that "Iraq is open to all brotherly Arab countries and the rest of the other countries."
