Iraq and Austria sign MOU

The Ministry of Interior announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Iraq and Austria in the field of training.

“Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shimmari, received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria and his accompanying delegation at the training school for the leadership of the Federal Police Forces, where a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two countries. This visit included a review of a group of lectures in the officers’ course at the sand table and the forensic evidence course for members, as well as a lecture on psychotropic substances and narcotics, a lecture for the officer’s mobilization and fortification course, and another on explosives," according to a statement by the Ministry of Interior, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

The statement included, "The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria also attended, along with the Minister of Interior, a lecture for the communications course for members and another for the chemical class, in addition to the human rights and officers course for members and viewing an exhibition of training ammunition and others."

In turn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria, expressed his admiration for the competencies and training enjoyed by the Iraqi security services and the achievement of advanced stages in operations to counter terrorism and crime in its various forms.
