Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani welcomed on Tuesday, the reopening of the Austrian embassy in Baghdad, while receiving an invitation to visit Austria.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA),"Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani, received Today Tuesday , the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Schallenberg, and his accompanying delegation, which included a number of heads and representatives of Austrian companies and businessmen."
The statement added ," During the meeting, Iraqi-Austrian relations were discussed, and opportunities to enhance cooperation in various areas were explored. At the outset of the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the reopening of the Austrian Embassy in Baghdad and the visiting delegation."
He emphasized that ,"the government has a comprehensive vision in various sectors and strategic areas and welcomes the involvement of companies from friendly nations in realizing this vision, which includes the signing of several memorandums of understanding in the fields of security, transportation, and economic cooperation. "
For his part, the Austrian Foreign Minister conveyed ,"the greetings of the Austrian Chancellor and his invitation to Prime Minister, Al-Sudani to visit Austria in order to discuss more opportunities for bilateral partnership, expressing his country's eagerness to establish a more significant presence in Iraq. "
He also expressed the intention to deepen and strengthen the bilateral relationship, emphasizing Austria's readiness to collaborate with Iraq across various sectors, including healthcare, education, telecommunications, infrastructure development, and information technology networks.
During the meeting, representatives from various companies and businessmen had the opportunity to present their respective companies' strengths, capabilities, and expertise.
They also shared their previous experiences in various economic and technological fields, fostering discussions on potential collaborations and opportunities for investment and partnership in Iraq.
