PM Al-Sudani directs to impose curfew in Kirkuk

    INA - BAGHDAD 

    The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Muhammed S. Al-Sudani, instructed the security forces in Kirkuk Governorate to fulfill their responsibilities in maintaining security and upholding the rule of law in response to the rioters and unrest in the region.

    The Prime Minister emphasized that these security units should be resolute in apprehending any individuals attempting to disrupt the security of Kirkuk from any faction and not permit them to possess firearms, except for authorized security personnel, according to a statement by the PM Media Office, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces instructed imposing a curfew in Kirkuk and the commencement of extensive security operations in the areas affected by the riots to conduct via search.

    Al-Sudani called on all political parties, social organizations, and community leaders to play their part in preventing strife and preserving security, stability, and order in Kirkuk Governorate.
