INSS announces outcome of its operations against oil smuggling

    The Iraqi National Security Service INSS announced on Wednesday the outcome of its security operations in pursuing oil smuggling networks during the past four months in Baghdad and the provinces.

     

    A statement by INSS, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "in continuation of intelligence efforts in pursuing oil smuggling networks, and based on the continuous directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to pursue crimes, the detachments of the INSS in Baghdad and the provinces were able during the past four months to seize more than two million liters of oil derivatives before smuggling them."

     

    "INSS's detachments arrested 124 people accused of smuggling according to judicial arrest warrants, in addition to seizing 15 hideouts that were used for storage and smuggling purposes," the statement said.
