Iraqi National Security Service-INSS announced raiding unauthorized oil refinery and confiscating three million smuggled liters of oil in Babil Governorate.
INSS stated in a statement , received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "With the support and supervision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, as part of the efforts of the INSS and its continuous Ops in striking the hideouts of corruption and smuggling, and after obtaining judicial approvals, the detachments of the INSS in Babil Governorate were able to raid an unauthorized oil refinery and seize about three million liters filled with twenty tanks, and forged seals belonging to the Ministry of Oil, in addition to seizing forged equipment used in smuggling operations.
The statement added that "INSS detachments in the governorates (Salah al-Din, Diyala, Kirkuk, Diwaniyah, and Nineveh) were able to thwart smuggling operations of 288,000 liters of oil derivatives by raiding a garage and a yard used to store smuggled oil derivatives, in addition to seizing and confiscating (11) vehicles and arresting eight accused persons.
