The spokesman for the General Command of the Libyan Army, Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, confirmed today, Friday, that the Libyan Air Force launched strong strikes against foreign armed groups on the Libyan-Chadian border.
Al-Mismari indicated that "the Libyan Air Force carried out a permanent air reconnaissance through an air umbrella over the area of military operations.".
The General Command of the Libyan Army, led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, announced in a statement, "the launch of a broad, precise and targeted military operation in the southern border area to secure the country's borders," noting, "The armed forces will not allow our country to be a starting point for any armed groups or formations that constitute a threat to our neighbours, or a launching pad for any illegal actions.".
The leadership's statement pointed out that "the ground and air forces are participating in the military operation," indicating that "the Libyan army will not stop until achieving the goals set by the General Command."
