The Secretary-General of Asaib Ahl Al-Haq, Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, discussed today, Wednesday, with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jeanine Plasschaert, the latest developments in Iraq and the region.
A statement by the movement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said, "The Secretary-General of Asaib Ahl Al-Haq, Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, received in his office in Baghdad, today, Wednesday, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jeanine Plasschaert.”
During the meeting, Al-Khazali stressed "the need to respect the sovereignty of Iraq, and the countries of the world to give importance to Iraq, for the decisions taken aiming to impose the prestige of the state and stability in all fields."
Al-Khazali stressed "the need to make every effort to facilitate the return of the displaced Yazidis to their areas of residence, and not to involve political interests in this important social part."
For her part, "Plasschaert expressed her respect for the opinions and topics raised by His Eminence Sheikh Khazali of the country's supreme interest."
