Khalid Al-Yaqoubi, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Security Affairs, denied the presence of a build-up of American forces inside Iraqi territory, stressing that there is a replacement for the American units stationed in Syria, while revealing the details of the meeting of the Iraqi security delegation in Washington.

Al-Yaqoubi said to the "Al-Ashrah" program, which is shown on Al-Iraqiya News, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Iraqi leaders, in their negotiations with the American side, focused on preserving Iraq's sovereignty," noting that "Iraq obtained all its requests in Washington negotiations."
He added, "The minutes of a meeting were signed between Iraq and the United States," stressing that "the agreement stipulates that drones fly in security areas with the approval of the Iraqi government exclusively."
Al-Yaqoubi continued, "None of the negotiating parties can act unilaterally," noting that "the chief of staff of the Peshmerga was present within the security delegation in Washington."
He pointed out that "a lot of information was published in the media to mislead," noting: "We agreed to form a military committee between the two parties to confront the threat of ISIS."
"There were no secret paragraphs or meetings in the negotiations with Washington," stressing; "There is no mobilization of the American forces, but rather a replacement for the American units present in Syria." Al-Yaqoubi said.
