The spokesman of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, denied the confiscation of the Iraqi school in Moscow.
Al-Sahhaf said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "There is no truth to what is being circulated on social media regarding the confiscation of the Iraqi school in Moscow, as the building was not owned by the Republic of Iraq at the time.".
He added, "The video clip dates back to 2012," noting that "the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Moscow recently succeeded, through the relevant authorities there, in obtaining, free of charge, a building owned by the Iraqi school from the Russian government, in a way that guarantees the right of the Republic of Iraq."
