Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency (FIIA) of the Ministry of Interior announced on Monday, the arrest of two wanted persons in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Law in Kirkuk, while indicating that one of them was responsible for the so-called Islamic Police.
A statement by the Intelligence Agency, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that, "In implementation of the directives of the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, which include pursuing the remaining remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs, and according to accurate intelligence information, the detachments of the intelligence agency specialized in combating terrorism in Kirkuk Governorate were able to the arrest of two wanted persons in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Law.”
The statement added, "The two defendants belonged to the terrorist ISIS gangs, and one of them was responsible for the so-called Islamic Police and responsible for booby-trapping and detonating the homes of employees of the security services, while the other participated in fighting the Peshmerga forces, wearing the Qandhari uniform," noting that " Investigating them and confronting them with evidence and information, they admitted that they had committed these crimes.”
The Intelligence Agency instructed citizens to "urgently call the toll free helpline -144 to report the outlaws in order to pursue and arrest them."
