Al-Mandalawi to his Jordanian counterpart: We look forward to activating the set of laws and bilateral talks

    First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, confirmed today, Monday, Iraq's aspiration to activate a set of laws and bilateral discussions with Jordan.
     
    The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Mandalawi met in his office, the Jordanian parliamentary delegation headed by the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ahmed Al-Khalayleh, and in the presence of the heads of the parliamentary committees (security, defense, and investment), and the deputy Chairman (Legal Committee), the Jordanian ambassador to Iraq, and a number of advisors from both sides.
     
    Al-Mandalawi assured his Jordanian counterpart that "the House of Representatives is looking forward to activating a set of laws and bilateral talks and speeding up and implementing it in reality, especially those related to economic and security aspects, facilitating travel procedures, increasing the volume of trade exchange, as well as developing the banking sector, raising the level of security coordination and securing borders  and activating the investment promotion and protection agreement between the two neighboring countries.
     
    According to the statement: "The first deputy discussed in detail the existing strategic relations between Iraq and Jordan and ways to strengthen and develop it, in a way that achieves the interests of the two brotherly peoples and the desired future goals and visions."
     
    Al-Mandalawi called for "strengthening channels of communication between investors and relevant government institutions in the two countries, and working to activate the role of the friendship committees between the two councils with the aim of strengthening relations and exchanging legislative expertise."
     
    For his part, al-Khalayleh said: "In the necks of the entire Arab nation there is a debt to Iraq, and the pure blood of its heroes that was spilled on its land against terrorism is still fresh in the minds of every Jordanian."
     
      He stressed, "The Kingdom supports the efforts of the legislative and executive authorities in Iraq related to activating security, investment and economic cooperation frameworks in general."
