The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority signed with its Syrian counterpart the air transport agreement between the two countries in its final form.
A statement by the Aviation Authority, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), quoted its president, Imad Al-Asadi, as saying: "The signing of this agreement comes as an update to the air transport agreement signed between the two countries in 1969, in order to develop prospects for cooperation and coordination to develop air traffic between Iraq and Syria.".
Al-Asadi stressed, "The authority is determined, and during its course, to work on updating air transport agreements with most of those countries, due to its importance in providing the best services and facilities for all carriers, in order to serve the travel movement between the two countries.".
