The President of Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), Faiq Zidan, discussed on Monday, with the international Civil Aviation Organization - ICAO plans for air safety and aviation security.
A statement by the Aviation Authority, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the President of SJC, Faiq Zidan, received today Monday ,a delegation of the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority headed by Imad Abdul Razzaq Al-Asadi and international Civil Aviation Organization - ICAO headed by Secretary-General Juan Carlos Salazar," indicating that "During the meeting, they reviewed the most important plans and actions that the authority is working on in accordance with the instructions of international Civil Aviation Organization - ICAO, with regard to air safety, aviation security and air transport, which would improve the reality of its work."
The head of the Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that "great efforts were made during the last period, which culminated in the international team completing the security audit procedures in the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority, the USAP-CMA program, as this is the first achievement in the history of the authority's work."
The President of SJC referred to "the vital role played by the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority by working to develop its performance in serving travelers and by providing all services and facilities at Iraqi airports, as well as its communication with international aviation organizations."
It is noteworthy that the Secretary-General of the International Civil Aviation Organization - ICAO and his accompanying delegation arrived yesterday, Sunday, in the capital, Baghdad, to conduct a series of meetings with the higher authorities in the country, which aim to support the work of the Civil Aviation Authority in several fields.
