PM directs the establishment of drug rehabilitation centers in all governorates

PM Muhammmed S. Al-Sudani directed on Monday, the establishment of rehabilitation centers for drug abusers in all governorates.
 
Al-Sudani chaired a meeting devoted to discussing the efforts of the competent agencies in the field of combating drugs and limiting their abuse and spread, according to a statement by the media office of the Prime Minister, received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
 
The meeting dealt with means of enhancing the technical and executive capabilities of the competent authorities in combating drugs, confronting the networks that promote and trade them, and unite efforts between them and the concerned departments within the various agencies.
 
They discussed means of coordinating the agencies concerned with control with the judicial authority in order to fully implement the deterrent laws in the field of drugs, their trade, abuse and transfer, as well as activating the media aspects of warning, definition and community education against drugs.
 
PM directed “to discuss the establishment of centers for the rehabilitation of drug abusers in all governorates, as well as tightening scrutiny and procedures at the border crossings to prevent any breach in this field. He emphasized the ministries of education to carry out awareness-raising roles about the dangers of these toxins, and their destructive effects in the society.”
 
Al-Sudani pointed out the necessity of continuing meetings between officials and representatives of agencies concerned with drug control, which is a challenge that the state must face with all its capabilities.
