The veterinary department in the Ministry of Agriculture announced on Tuesday, the results of the investigation into fish deaths in Al-Majar district in Maysan.
The director general of the department, Thamer Habib, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the director of Al-Amarah Hospital visited, at the head of an investigative committee, the area that witnessed the death of fish in Al-Hungary district, and it was found through the investigation that there was a decrease in the oxygen level with few water releases and an increase in the percentage of salts led to the death of fish."
He added, "There is no disease or emergency that caused the death of the fish."
The veterinary department in the Ministry of Agriculture announced, earlier, the formation of a committee to investigate the causes of fish deaths in Al-Mejar district."
