The Shiite Endowment Office condemned, today, Thursday, the incident of burning the Holy Qur’an, while calling for an end to anti-Islamic actions.
The Diwan stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "once again, a disgraceful insult to the symbols of our Islamic religion is repeated, without regard for the two billion Muslims spread in all parts of the world, where the Holy Qur'an was subjected to sinful attack and major abuse, which is an irresponsible act as it is a crime against Muslims." The Swedish government bears responsibility for participating in acts of racial incitement for officially agreeing to allow this ominous phenomenon.”.
He added, "It is a condemned and rejected act that has nothing to do with freedom of opinion and expression, and this irresponsible step is an explicit endorsement of the concept of hatred, intellectual terrorism, and racial discrimination on the basis of belief and religion.".
He continued, "Therefore, we call on human rights organizations and active international institutions to stand up to such deviant behavior and call for respect for human rights, regardless of their religion, race and belief, and to take deterrent measures against the planners and perpetrators of acts of violence and incitement against religions, including anti-Islamic acts under the pretext of freedom of expression, and obtain A binding international resolution to prevent any action that leads to the spread of hatred, hatred and extremism among different sects and religions, and to work to hold the perpetrators accountable firmly in order to preserve societal peace, combat religious and intellectual intolerance, and oblige everyone to respect religious symbols.
