Defense Minister arrives in Basra province

Defense Minister Thabet Mohammed al-Abbasi arrived on Sunday in Basra province.
 
The Ministry of Defense said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Defense Minister Thabet Muhammad al-Abbasi arrived in Basra province, accompanied by the assistant chief of staff of the army for operations, and the commander of the ground forces."
 
The statement added that "the visit aims to see the security situation in the province and follow up on the military units deployed within their areas of responsibility."
