The President of the General National Congress of the Faili Kurds, Tariq al-Mandalawi, appreciated on Wednesday, the approval of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani to form a special court to consider the cases and affairs of the Faili Kurds, and the judiciary interacted with the issue by a decision of the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zidan, to appoint a competent judge in the Rusafa Court of Appeal to consider the file of the absent Faili Kurds at the time of the defunct dictatorial regime.
Al-Mandalawi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The prime minister approved the book of the General National Conference of the Faili Kurds to form a special court to look into the affairs of the Faili Kurds."
He added, "On the basis of that, the President of the Supreme Judicial Council directed the designation of a competent judge to look into the file of the absent Faili Kurdish youth during the time of the defunct dictatorial regime, as well as appointing a judge to look into cases related to real estate confiscated from Faili Kurds during the period of the defunct dictatorial regime."
Al-Mandalawi, on behalf of the Faili Kurds, sent a letter of thanks to the Prime Minister and the President of the Supreme Judicial Council for their great interaction with the issues of the Iraqi components, guaranteeing their rights, and compensating the Faili Kurds for the serious harm they suffered and removing all the bad effects that befell them."
