Al-Araji: The government exerts great efforts to control the borders, arrest drug dealers

    National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji confirmed on Thursday, that the Iraqi government is exerting utmost efforts to control the borders and arrest drug dealers.
     
    “The National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, received in his office today, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Baghdad, Petr Štěpánek, as they discussed strengthening cooperation and friendship relations between the two countries, and ways to develop them, in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples, they also discussed continuing partnership and cooperation in the field of combating terrorism,” stated the media office of the National Security Adviser in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
    Al-Araji assured the Czech ambassador that "The world is going through many changes, and security remains the common concern of countries," pointing out that "ISIS still poses a threat, and the world must fight extremist ideology and eradicate the media, financial and human sources of terrorism."
     
    Al-Araji said, "There is another real danger that has begun to spread in the region, which is the danger of drugs," noting that "the Iraqi government is making great efforts to control the borders and arrest drug dealers."
     
    Al-Araji said, "The political scene in Iraq is stable, and the opportunity is available for Czech companies to work in Iraq," explaining that "the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, stressed the importance of inviting Czech companies to work in Iraq."
     
    He stressed, "The importance of pressure towards ending the Russian-Ukrainian war, because it caused harm to everyone, and real international efforts must be made to end this conflict and spare the region and the world the effects of war and devastation."
     
    For his part, the Czech ambassador lauded "Iraq's efforts and its role in the rapprochement between Iran and Saudi Arabia," noting that "this understanding will bring peace to the region."
     
    The Czech ambassador conveyed an invitation to Al-Araji, by the Czech National Security Adviser, to visit Prague.
