The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency FIIA announced on Thursday the arrest of four felons who used explosives to target gas stations and homes in Maysan.
FIIA stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "as a result of the work of the detachments of the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency in the Ministry of Interior in following the activities of terrorist elements that terrorize citizens and physically blackmail them using dangerous criminal methods, the Agency's detachments were able to arrest four defendants wanted in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 terrorism in Maysan province, with separate operations and cases.”
It added that "the felons targeted homes of citizens, fuel stations and shops using hand grenades, and shooting and the purpose is to blackmail them financially," pointing out that "legal measures were taken fundamentally."
