SMC announces the results of the fifth phase of Operation Swords of Truth

    Security Media Cell(SMC) announced on Sunday, the results of the fifth phase of Operation Swords of Truth, noting that it included areas of common interest between the center and the region, in Diyala, Tuz Khurmato and Kirkuk.

    SMC stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "According to the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the importance of continuing pressure on the defeated terrorist elements, and after the continuous prayers of the heroes in our armed forces, and under the supervision of the Joint Operations Command in the various sectors of responsibility."

    The statement added, "The Iraqi army forces, the Peshmerga, the Ministry of Interior and the Popular Mobilization Forces, with the support of the Air Force, Army Aviation and technical detachments from the Directorate of Military Intelligence and other support and service categories, carried out the attack in the presence of the Army Chief of Staff, Deputy Commander of Joint Operations and a number of commanders and commanders, over the course of May 27-28 the fifth phase of Operation Swords of Truth included areas of common interest between the center and the region, and according to accurate intelligence, in Diyala, Tuz Khurmato and Kirkuk."

    It added, "The results included the finding of (43) terrorist dens, (3) tunnels, (11) explosive devices, (5) 82mm mortar bombs, (4) 60mm bombs, and the destruction of a monitoring point, in addition to the seizure of (3) bicycles a motorcycle, a wheel, and a quantity of cooking utensils and furnishings."

    SMC concluded, "Our specialized security units will continue intensively their field work in all sectors of responsibility, and will not be complacent in curbing terrorists and destroying their hideouts, May God protect you, men of Iraq, and the prayers of mothers accompany your steps on the soil of this pure homeland."
