The head of al-Hikma Movement, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, stressed on Sunday, the importance of deepening the relationship with the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Al-Hakim said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "At the beginning of our visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, we met, this morning, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, where we exchanged views with him on various issues of common concern," stressing "the importance of deepening and documenting the relationship Which will reflect positively on the two brotherly peoples, especially in the economic fields of common interest."
The statement expressed his support for "the coordination between Baghdad and Cairo in various fields related to regional issues," appreciating "the desired outputs from the meetings of the joint bilateral committee between the two countries, which are expected to be held during the next month."
On the regional side, Sayyid Al-Hakim praised "the positive atmosphere that prevails in the region and the importance of its continuity, development, and consolidation of its foundations in order to enhance the security and stability of the region," warning of "the challenges that the region may face in the event of a decline in this positive situation."
Sayyid Al-Hakim reviewed the regional crises with Al-Sisi, stressing "the importance of resolving the crises taking place in some Arab countries, especially what is going on in brotherly Sudan, with the need to give the conflicting parties an opportunity for dialogue."
He praised "the moderate role of sister Egypt in dealing with these complexities by opening the doors of dialogue and adopting it, and relying on political solutions."
