The National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, discussed with the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Pavel Talabani, today, Saturday, the overall political and security situation.
The media office of the National Security Adviser said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "under the direction of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, the National Security Adviser, Qassem al-Araji, visited Sulaymaniyah, at the head of a delegation from the security services and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Al-Araji and his accompanying delegation were received at Sulaymaniyah Airport, the region's interior minister, Riber Ahmed, who went from Erbil to Sulaymaniyah, and the directors of the security services in the region.
The statement added, "A joint meeting was held, to complement the first meeting in Erbil, during which the region's interior minister gave a presentation on the measures taken by the region, and the directors of the security agencies gave a brief on all work related to the provisions of the security record between Iraq and Iran, as the region's interior minister renewed Emphasis on commitment to the agreement concluded by the government with the Iranian side.
The statement indicated, "The delegation paid a visit to the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Pavel Talabani, in Sulaymaniyah, during which they discussed the overall political and security situation, as well as stressing the continuation of cooperation between the center and the region, to enhance security and stability in the country.".
The statement concluded, "The National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, conveyed the Prime Minister's greetings to all the people of the region."
