President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Rashid, offered on Wednesday condolences on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Sayyed Muhammad Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr and his two sons.
Rashid said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "Today we recall the march of sacrifice and benevolence, the memory of the martyrdom of Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Muhammad Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr, and his honorable sons in their defiance and heroic jihad against dictatorial tyranny."
He added, "From this anniversary, we draw inspiration from the meanings of dedication, motivation and synergy to serve our people and achieve their hopes and aspirations in establishing security, stability and well-being for our citizens."
He continued, "Our condolences to our people and the honorable al-Sadr family, and to those who followed their immortal path, and mercy to the martyrs."
