3 magnitude earthquake hits Al-Kut

Ministry of Transport - MOT announced on Thursday, that an earthquake was recorded in Al-Kut.

“The Ministry's seismic observatories in the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring recorded an earthquake, on Thursday, in Wasit Governorate," said MOT in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

The statement added, "The earthquake was recorded at exactly 1:40:20 today local time, with a magnitude of (3) degrees, 60 km northwest of Al-Kut, Wasit Governorate."

The statement continued, "The earthquake was felt by the citizens in the Zubaydah and Al-Suwaira areas," noting that "no significant losses were reported."
