An earthquake rattles the northwest of Khanaqin

Ministry of Transport announced on Wednesday, that an earthquake rattled the northwest of Khanaqin, Diyala.

The seismic observatories in the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring recorded an earthquake at exactly 11:00:10 pm on Wednesday, local time, as the strength of it reached 3.7 degrees, and 13 km to the northwest of Khanaqin district, Diyala as it has not been proven that citizens in the area felt it, according to a statement by the Ministry of Transport, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

The General Authority for Meteorology called on citizens to take precautions, to stay away from rumors and false news, as well as to abide by the seismic recommendations issued by the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring.
