MOC confirms from Washington that Iraq is seeking to obtain the best types of wheat

The Minister of Trade, Atheer Al-Ghurairy, confirmed today, Thursday, Iraq's quest to obtain the best types of wheat.

The Ministry of Commerce stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Minister Al-Ghurairy headed the delegation of the Ministry of Commerce to Washington, based on the invitation submitted to him by the US Grain Council to discuss mechanisms of joint cooperation with regard to supplying Iraq with American wheat of the best quality and prices, where he held On the sidelines of the call, a meeting was held with the American Wheat Council and in the presence of a number of wheat processing companies, in which the council presented special reports on the most important areas of American wheat and its best quality in the world, and the importance of mixing it with local wheat to reach a good Iraqi loaf of bread, in addition to reviewing the possibility of entering international and American companies And cooperation in this field to reach suitable prices that serve both parties, as well as discussing solutions to facilitate the purchase of American wheat "to compete with other global types of wheat."

Al-Ghurairy reviewed, "During the meeting, the work of Iraqi mills and their possibility of entering the Iraqi market to produce zero flour, and the possibility of strengthening and supporting these mills for the purpose of producing the best types of zero flour."

He expressed his hope for an increase in the volume of cooperation in the field of grains, and requested greater support from the US side, especially with regard to testing equipment, exchanging experiences, and transferring the latest US expertise in this field to be a fruit of this cooperation.

For their part, those in charge of the American Grain Board affirmed, according to the statement, their "commitment to supplying Iraq with the best quality and the best prices."
