PM Al-Sudani chairs a session of the Ministerial Council for National Security

    INA - BAGHDAD 

    PM and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammed S. Al-Sudani, on Wednesday, chaired a regular session of the Ministerial Council for National Security.

    During the session, they discussed the developments in the security situation in the country. This included following up on the military and security plans designed to pursue the remnants of Daesh terrorist gangs, said the spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yehia Rasool, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    The session included handling a number of topics on the agenda, and the issuance of decisions and recommendations in this regardn as well as the challenges of the water reality and climatic variables, in addition to their impact on national security, as plans were put in place to address the water shortage during the next summer period. It also included the work needed to find alternatives and means to reduce water waste, and ensure the flow of rivers to the extent that meets the minimum requirements.

    They discussed "the requirements for securing the Iraqi borders with both Iran and Turkey, in a way that contributes to strengthening the country's security and stability."

    They highlighted the regulations for securing peaceful demonstrations, and the duty to provide the necessary protection for them, as a right guaranteed by the constitution.
