Al-Sudani: The government gives a high interest in energy

    Prime Minister Muhammed S. Al-Sudani affirmed the government's interest in the energy file and its plans to develop the oil industry, noting that investment in the petrochemical industry will play an influential role in the future of the country's economy.

    Al-Sudani received on Monday the chairman and members of the Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Parliamentary Committee, as it is part of a series of meetings he is holding, according to a statement by the media office of the Prime Minister received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    "The Prime Minister works with parliamentary committees in various sectors, aiming at coordinating between the executive and legislative branches, which contributes to the success of the government's work towards achieving the goals of its program and implementing its priorities," included the statement.

    During the meeting, they emphasized developing the oil industry and regulating the export process, especially after the temporary agreement with the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq regarding oil export from the northern fields, which is considered a ground for approving the federal oil and gas law."

    Al-Sudani referred to "the government's interest in the energy file and its plans to develop the oil industry, which have been implemented by investing in associated gas and seeking to enlist Iraq into the global gas markets."

    "Investment in the petrochemical industry will play an influential role in the future of the country's economy, as well as the development of the oil extraction and production sectors," said Al-Sudani, stressing "the ongoing work to find promising investment opportunities in the oil sector, in a way that contributes to the development of revenues and the realization of the country's interests."
