Iraq, Sudan discuss joint security effort to combat terrorism

    Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari discussed on Sunday with his Sudanese counterpart, General Anan Hamid Mohamed Omar, the joint security effort in combating terrorism.
     
    A statement of the ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that "Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari received today at the ministry's headquarters, his Sudanese counterpart, General Anan Hamid Muhammad Omar, in the presence of agents, advisers and managers," noting that "an official reception was made for the guest delegation and discussed with him a number of files, most notably strengthening the joint security effort in combating terrorism, especially in light of the great experiences that Iraq possessed during its fight against ISIS terrorist gangs."
    The statement added that "the meeting also discussed the file of combating drugs and mechanisms for the eradication of these toxins and dangerous scourge, as well as the subject of training to enhance the military capabilities of the police forces."
     
    The Sudanese interior minister stressed that "the Iraqi police is one of the most disciplined forces in the performance of duties, and has very great capabilities in the fight against organized crime."
     
    The delegation praised "the hospitality and good reception he saw in Iraq".
