The Speaker of the Parliament, Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, discussed with the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani, on Monday, the outstanding political, economic and administrative situation between Baghdad and the Region.
The media office of the Speaker of the Parliament, in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that "the Speaker of the Parliament, Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, received the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani, and during the meeting they discussed the outstanding political, economic and administrative situation between Baghdad and the region and ways to solve them in accordance with constitutional frameworks and political agreements in a way that serves the interest of the Iraqi people in all its components."
It added that "the meeting discussed the issue of the upcoming constitutional entitlements and agreements concluded between the blocs, as well as the challenges facing the achievement of commitments between Baghdad and the region."
The meeting touched, according to the statement, on "the new political and administrative developments and changes in Syria and the need to help the Syrian people recover and ensure the establishment of an authority that takes care of all components and overcome the effects of the previous stage."
