Minister of Health: The purpose behind canceling Cabinet’s decision of COVID vaccine

The Minister of Health, Salih Al-Hasnawi, clarified on Saturday, the contents of the previous cabinet decision regarding the coronavirus vaccine, which the cabinet voted to cancel last Tuesday's session.

"The cabinet's decision to cancel its decision No. 410 of 2021 regarding the coronavirus vaccine does not mean the cancellation of all decisions related to the Corona pandemic, but only one decision," said Al-Hasnawi to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

He explained, "The canceled decision is related to contracting with an Emirati company, and this company is the exclusive marketer of the Chinese company Sinopharm. Our approach in the Ministry of Health is to open up to international companies, and we turned towards Pfizer and AstraZeneca companies. There is no need to limit contracting with a specific company, so we asked to cancel the decision, and the Cabinet voted on our recommendation in this regard.”
