Finland joins NATO tomorrow, Tuesday

    NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced today, Monday, that Finland will officially join the alliance tomorrow, Tuesday.
     
    "Finland will officially join the alliance tomorrow, Tuesday," Stoltenberg told the media, noting that "Finland will become a full member state and will participate in all its meetings."
     
    Stoltenberg added, "Finland will provide the alliance with trained forces, equipment and a large number of reserve forces," noting that "our land borders with Russia will double with Finland's accession to the alliance."
     
      "Finland's accession to the alliance will double our capabilities on the land borders with Russia," explaining that "we have proven to Russian President Vladimir Putin that the doors of NATO are not closed, and Finland's accession to the alliance contradicts his expectations." Stoltenberg said.
     
    He stated that "Sweden's accession in the near future is a goal for the NATO countries."
