The Largest floating book fair on Shatt Al-Arab, Basra

    The Logos Hope ship docked on the banks of the Shatt Al-Arab on its first visit in 53 years, which holds the largest floating book fair.

    "The doors of the Logos Hope ship were opened this day by the two deputy governors of Basra, Muhammed Taher Al-Tamimi and Dhurgham Al-Ajwadi, and it will continue to receive visitors until the seventh of next April," said the head of the translators' team on the ship, Saif al-Din al-Jubouri, to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
    He explained, "The ship has about 350 foreigners on board of 77 different nationalities and organizational teams of volunteers in the governorate from various university students and employees. The entry to the ship is now for free and for all citizens," pointing out that there is a turnout of citizens for the exhibition inside the ship.
    "The ship opens its doors daily to receive visitors and students according to the schedule prepared by the local government in the province," he highlighted, adding that "the floating book fair on the ship has more than 5,000 books, 90% of which are in English and the other in Arabic."
    He pointed out that "the traveling ship Logos Hope docked for the first time since 1970 on the banks of Shatt al-Arab," noting that "by visiting Iraq, it would have reached all countries of the world that have a water crossing."
